Vacancy – Diocesan Office Administrator

Location: Oban
Hours of Work: 12 hours per week
Salary: £15.46 per hour

The RC Diocese of Argyll and the Isles is seeking to recruit a part-time Office Administrator, based in the Diocese Offices in Oban with flexibility for some home working as agreed once in post.

The Role

This important role, carries responsibility to undertake all administrative duties for the diocesan office. The successful candidate will work closely with the Diocesan Trustees, which includes the Bishop, Vicar General, Chancellor, as well as working alongside the Finance Manager, Finance Assistant and parishes across the diocese. There will be responsibility for a range of administrative and clerical tasks including organising and taking minutes of meetings, providing some clerical assistance to the Finance Manager, assisting with Health & Safety returns and a variety of other returns as well as enquiries and varied office duties.

Our Ideal Candidate

Applicants should have some experience of working in a similar type of role, with excellent administration, clerical, and organisational skills and be competent in a range of IT systems, including Microsoft Office, e.g., Excel & Word, and in using management information systems and databases. Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in dealing with a variety of people are important attributes too, as well as a high regard for confidentiality and a flexible approach to work. Additionally, since the role involves working within a Christian framework it is essential to be sensitive to our ethos.
