Safeguarding remains a priority in our diocese during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have temporarily stopped the public celebration of Mass to protect the health of those who are most at risk from the virus. On Tuesday the Scottish Bishops established a Working Party which will be chaired by Sir Harry Burns, a previous Chief Medical Officer for Scotland, to put in place protocols which will ensure that our Churches are safe when they reopen.
Meanwhile, our Diocesan Safeguarding Core Team has had two virtual Meetings since the lockdown began and the DSAG will still meet (virtually) as planned next month. Both the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor and Secretary continue to work, but from the safety of their homes.
