Praying for every Parish across our Diocese

The praying of the Rosary, August 2017, South Uist.

Dear brothers and sisters,

I have been delighted to be able to celebrate Mass every day in my Oratory for you, as well as lead you in other devotions. I am especially pleased that so many people from across the diocese and beyond have been able to join me or the other priests. I encourage you to also regularly pray within your homes. We can draw so much strength, and support each other, when we spend time with Our Lord. The necessary restrictions put in place us for our safety has meant that we cannot worship God and interact with others as we would like to. However, God understands this, and he will be generous in his blessings.

Personally, I miss visiting the parishes and spending time with you and your priests. Our beautiful diocese may be made up of many small, scattered communities but together we form an ancient Church, a living community of Faith. From this Sunday, I will pray each day during Mass for one of our parishes asking God to bless its priest, its parishioners and all who live in the local community. Please join me, either at daily Mass or at some other point of the day, in supporting our parishes in prayer.

On Sunday we will pray for St Michael’s, Ardkenneth; Tuesday St Mary’s, Arisaig; Wednesday St Mun’s, Ballachulish; Thursday St Mary’s, Benbecula; Friday St Mary’s, Bornish and on Saturday Holy Cross, Brodick.
