Monsignor Gerard McKay died on Saturday.

Monsignor Gerard McKay died on Saturday in hospital in Rome after bravely battling illness for several years. May he rest in peace. As well as ministering within several parishes of our diocese of Argyll and the Isles he also used his Canon Law expertise for the service of the Church nationally and at the Vatican. We extend our condolences to Monsignor McKay’s family and friends. His funeral Mass will be celebrated in San Lorenzo in Damaso, Rome ‪on Friday 4th January at 11am‬.
‪On Monday 7th January Bishop Brian will offer Mass for Monsignor Gerard in St. Columba’s Cathedral, Oban at 12 noon‬. This gives us an opportunity to gather as a diocese to pray for Monsignor. All are welcome. Please keep Monsignor Gerard in your prayers as well as his family.
