In his documents to the church (2003), St. John Paul II encouraged Catholics to use the internet to proclaim the gospel and also strongly cautioned the church about the dangers that will accompany in the process.

Pope Francis regard modern communications as “a gift of God which involves a great responsibility,” that “the Internet could be used to build a society which is healthy and open to sharing”. Also “Social networks can facilitate relationships and promote the good of society.
