Easter at Craig Lodge Family House of Prayer
Around 60 young people gathered at Craig Lodge Family House of Prayer to celebrate the Easter Triduum. Fr Martin Delaney, from Motherwell Diocese, led the retreat along with Craig Lodge Community.
As always, the focus was on the liturgies but the weekend included making the Stations of the Cross up the hill behind the retreat centre and a reconciliation service. Some of those on retreat also volunteered to take part in a portrayal of the Passion in St Conan’s Kirk, a local church building that attracts thousands of visitors each year because of its quirky architecture. “What we did there was a very simple outreach”, explained Ruth Black from Craig Lodge Community, “But it gave us all a chance to witness in a gentle way so that visitors could pause and watch and listen or just walk on by if they preferred.”
As well as residential events, Craig Lodge also offers young people the chance to experience a year of Community life. www.craiglodge.org
