Diocese of Argyll & the Isles Ordinations,13 & 21 of June, 2018.

Rev. Emmanuel Alagbaoso and Ronald Campbell

Dear brothers and sisters, this month of June is a time of blessing, hope, and joy for us as two men will be ordained for our diocese of Argyll and the Isles.

Firstly, Ronald Campbell will be ordained as a deacon this Wednesday, 13th June, in the Papal Basilica of St Paul-outside-the-Walls in Rome. Ronald comes from St Mary’s parish, Benbecula and worked as a Primary teacher before entering Seminary. Please pray for Ronald this week. I would be especially pleased if as many people as possible came to Mass in their own parish on Wednesday and prayed for Ronald.

Secondly a week later, on Thursday 21st June, Deacon Emmanuel Alagbaoso will be ordained to the priesthood in St Columba’s Cathedral, Oban at 7 pm. He will celebrate his Mass of Thanksgiving on Friday 22nd in the Cathedral at 10 am. I invite each of you to join me in the Cathedral as I ordain Emmanuel. This will be my first Ordination and I am very much looking forward to it. Emmanuel comes from Nigeria but has been studying for Argyll and the Isles. Many of you will already know Emmanuel. I ask you to also pray for Emmanuel as he approached Priestly Ordination.

I thank Rev Emmanuel and Ronald for offering their lives to God and our diocese.

May their example inspire other young men to answer God’s call.
