Congratulations to Fr Paul Hackett S.J. on his 60th Anniversary of Priestly Ordination

Congratulations to Fr Paul Hackett S.J. who celebrates the 60th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood this Saturday, the feast of St Ignatius of Loyola. Fr Paul was ordained in Heythrop Jesuit College, Oxfordshire in 1961. He served in various Jesuit missions in England and Wales before coming to Scotland. Fr Paul ministered for 12 years in Our Holy Redeemer, Stornoway before ‘retiring’ to Oban where he served in the Cathedral, on Mull, and then Lochgilphead and Rothesay parishes before taking up residence at Kingussie where he ministered for over 8 years. It was from Kingussie, aged 88, that Fr Paul again retired, although he has embraced lighter pastoral duties at Preston. As a diocese we are grateful to Fr Paul for all he has given to us. Let us pray for him on his special day.
