Bishop Brian:Let us imitate our Blessed Mother and confidently pray that the Spirit will renew us

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Greetings from sunny Barra! I have recently been able to resume visiting our parishes  and during the past month I have celebrated Sunday Mass in Lochgilphead, Inveraray, Rothesay and Oban. I am presently on Barra for a week.

Perhaps it was a reaction to the cabin fever of the past 15 months but at 7.30 this morning I climbed Heaval, Barra’s highest peak! The scenery was stunning which only made me wonder at the Creator’s beauty and majesty. I paused at the statue of the Virgin and Child. Last Thursday we celebrated the Lord’s Ascension and between that day and Pentecost the disciples, in the presence of Mary, prayed constantly as they awaited the outpouring of the Spirit. We are living through uncertain times but the one constant is Gods love. Let us imitate our Blessed Mother and confidently pray that the Spirit will renew us, our families, our Church and the whole of humanity.

A Reul na Mara, Guidh air a son.
