Celebrating Our Lady of the Isles

The Statue of Our Lady of the Isles, Rueval, South Uist, was consecrated on the Feast of the Assumption, August 15th, 1958, by Rt Rev Kenneth Grant, Bishop of Argyll and the Isles. To mark the 50th anniversary of the consecration, Mass was  celebrated at the Statue by Rt Rev Ian Murray, present Bishop of the Diocese.

Scalan Pilgrimage

The first Sunday of July each year is the occasion of the Annual Pilgrimage to Scalan, in the Braes of Glenlivet. The purpose of the pilgrimage, organised by the Scalan Association, is to remember the past and to pray for the future. This year some 100 pilgrims from various parts of Scotland gathered for the celebration of Mass at the historic site. The homily was preached by Canon Donald MacKay, Administrator of St. Columba's Cathedral, Oban.
