During the Sundays of Ordinary Time in the Liturgical Calendar there is a semicontinuous reading of the Synoptic Gospels. This reading is arranged in such a way that the Lord’s life and preaching unfold.  This year is Year A of the Liturgical Cycle and the readings are mainly from the Gospel of Matthew.
