Celebrating Our Lady of the Isles

The Statue of Our Lady of the Isles, Rueval, South Uist, was consecrated on the Feast of the Assumption, August 15th, 1958, by Rt Rev Kenneth Grant, Bishop of Argyll and the Isles. To mark the 50th anniversary of the consecration, Mass was  celebrated at the Statue by Rt Rev Ian Murray, present Bishop of the Diocese.
It began simply as a Mass for the sick of our two parishes, on the 150th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady to Bernadette at Lourdes. However like the seed of any good or Godly idea, it grew quickly and beyond all expectation.
