Bishop Joseph returned on 25 September from a 10 day visit to Rome where he attended the New Bishops Conference.

"During my visit to Rome for the conference for recently ordained bishops we had the privilege of an audience with Pope Benedict at Castel Gondolfo, at which he extended his apostolic blessing to the people, priests and religious of our diocese - so I pass that blessing to all of you."
