Congratulations!

We send our congatulations and the support of our prayers to Canon Billy Fraser who celebrated 40 years as a priest on Good Friday. There was a Mass of Thanksgiving in Taynuilt on Friday 24 April. Canon Fraser recently accepted the position of Provost of the Cathedral Chapter following the retirement of Canon MacQueen from the post.

Scottish Catholic Forum for Continuing Education

Mgr. Donald MacKinnon has represented the diocese on this group for a number of years but is now handing on responsibility to Sr. Mary Jo McCallum. The group is setting up a website - beingcatholic.org - to provide information and opportunities for Catholics who want to grow in their understanding of their faith. The idea is that eventually individuals and parish groups can tap into the resources there and download what they need. The website will be launched in September.

Deanery Masses

The St. Michael's Deanery Mass will take place in Sgoil Lionacleit on Tuesday 9 June, Feast of St. Columba at 12.30pm. The theme which we will share with our young people is Vocations.

The St. Margaret's Deanery Mass will be on Friday 19 June, Feast of the Sacred Heart at 7pm in St. Mary's, Fort William. The children who have received the Sacraments this year and their families will be encouraged to come to this Mass. We will also inaugurate the Year of the Priest along with the Church throughout the world.
