Fr. Michael Hutson is parish priest of Star of the Sea, Castlebay, Isle of Barra.
View all articles by Fr. Michael HutsonThe annual Fishermen's Mass took place on the Isle of Barra on 13 July 2008. Over 1000 people took part and the newly formed Barra Pipe Band started and concluded the celebration.
Fr. Michael Hutson sang the Mass and the homily was given by Canon Angus MacQueen. Children from various parts of the island participated as altar servers and in leading the Prayer of the Faithful.
At the end of Mass all the fishing boats of Barra and Vatersay were blessed by Fr. Hutson and Canon MacQueen.

I am a catholic priest from the diocese of kotter india. I am actively involved for the casue of poor fishermen here. I am deepy impressed on the mass celebration of the fishermen. I like to share more information about our peopel here in india
